Acanto design Nicole De Ponti is part of the DSQUARED2 spring summer collection fashion show.
"A tutto volume! Dsquared2", for the new spring summer collection, focuses entirely on the sculptural shapes of the silhouettes and on color. Sculpture clothes, translated into fabrics and bright colors. Each piece is exaggerated, amplified by the maxi prints that refer to the world of art. Blocks of color, gigantic lamé discs and prints inspired by Aztec painting enhance the exasperated forms.
Overcoats, trousers and rigid-shaped skirts rotate softly around the body, wrapping it. The silk crêpe suit contrasts a boxy jacket and pants with a more relaxed fit. The doubled and stiffened poplin / cotton T-shirts are short and cut. Cheerful blocks of colors, which alternate electric blue, lemon yellow and fuchsia, enhance polo shirts and shorts in raw cut leather.
Sporty Couture even for the most casual pieces. Long double silk skirts are paired with sporty leather tank tops. Sophisticated beaded embroidery embellishes the jacket, combined with the hooded gray sweatshirt. Soft cascades of feathers for skirts, bags and tops. Ruffles and pleated flounces give volume to short tunics and evening skirts.
Some pieces seem stolen from the male wardrobe, for an energetic and colorful look, tomboy-like only at first glance. In reality, the iconic eyeglasses with black and thick frames, boyfriend jeans and men's underwear want to dilute very feminine looks. Denim, an element that has always been present in the brand's DNA, is dirty, torn ad hoc and has a "used" look.
Oversized jeans stop at the ankle and are paired with versatile pieces. Twin Peaks, the new Dsquared2 bag, reveals its double identity, shopper or clutch, also with shoulder strap. The square and rectangular bag debuts on the catwalk in an "extra large" or "small" version and is made of suede, crocodile and soft nubuck. The looks are completed by shoes with vertiginous stiletto heels or transparent wedges that imprison, like brightly colored or metallic cages, feet and legs.
